About me
Claire Marie Lim is a music technologist and electronic musician, active under her artist project dolltr!ck. An educator on faculty at Berklee College of Music, BerkleeNYC and the City University of New York, she specializes in instruction for live electronic performance, production and programming, and is an advocate of women and Asian representation in music technology. She is an Ableton Certified Trainer, Bitwig Certified Trainer, and Apple Certified Pro, and has trained and consulted for over a hundred artists from Universal Music Group, Spinnin’ Records, Monstercat, Liquicity, and more.
In music education and arts activism, Claire has collaborated with initiatives such as Girls Rock Campaign, Beats By Girlz, Synth Library NYC, and the Queens Public Library network, and has received support from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and Queens Council on the Arts. She develops curriculum for various ages and experience levels, having worked with Splice, the International Center of Photography, Coursera and the Berklee network, among other institutions. Claire also independently runs the doll troop, a mentorship experience where K-12 girls can shadow her in electronic songwriting sessions and live shows.
As dolltr!ck, Claire is known for her dynamic live electronic performances incorporating dreamy synths, punchy drum machines, and processed vocals, tied together by virtuosic controllerism and flairs of showmanship. Her endeavors have taken her to esteemed venues and events across the globe and on the World Wide Web, with her work in the advocacy of women and Asian representation being hailed as “shattering the glass ceiling of electronic music”, gaining recognition from the likes of iHeartRadio, Broadway World, Sofar Sounds, Spotify, and the Recording Academy.
